-Name: Sarriet Shinnkopf
-Magic user? (yes/no): Yes
-Race: Subterranean Desert Elf
-Animal companion?: Yes
+Race: Lynx
+Name: Emara
+Description: Extremely large lynx that Sarriet discovered wounded while exploring high in the mountains. Nursed her back to health to discover she had an extremely acuter mind as well as a few strange powers, including telepathy and minor powers of camouflage.
-Physical Description: Tall skinny man with long, straight, sand-brown hair down to his shoulderblades. Thin scar running from the bottom of his left eye by the nose to the back of the jaw. Eyes the color and pattern of sandstone. Angular face with pronounced cheekbones. Bony hands with long fingers. Long muscled legs made for running and ascending (or descending) stairs.
-Personality: Sarriet's personality would seem dry and abstract to a human, but deep within contains complexities and intricacies that he is loath to let out. He is soft spoken and seemingly emotionless on the surface, but within is calculating and always thinking. He always questions himself and has low self-confidence, but does not let it show on the outside.
-Description of abilities and/or skills: Specializes in the magic of nature, generally subtle, but with a few flashy spells stored up for times when a distraction is needed or when in a real bind.
-Back Story (Include Country of Origin): Born deep beneath the deserts of Trans-Sibra, Sarriet was heir to the throne of the small Shinnkopf territory. It was little more than a collection of a few miles of tunnels and a few mushroom farms. By accident, his father went to war with a neighboring territory and through trickery won the deciding battle, triple the size of the kingdom. Over the next years, he slowly grew more and more warlike, taking over more and more territories until he was the ruler of a sizable subterranean kingdom. After several years of seeming stagnnce as the ruler of his large kingdom, he died in the throne. Sarriet's brother Sintair took control and immediately went to war with the other large subterranean kingdom, ruled by a peaceful democratic council. Sarriet was loath to accept this and deserted his family to wander the other continents. I his travels he met and bonded with Emara and gleaned from nature the chaotic subtleties of natural magic, in opposition to the structured magic he had been taught amongst his own people. A few years passed and Sarriet had not stepped foot in Trans-Sibra for many a year and had heard no news of his brother's fate. It was not until an emissary came for him in a smal town in the mountains that he discovered that his brother had succeeded in his plot to destroy the other kingdom and had done much, much more. He had taken his army above ground and conquered the whole of Trans-Sibra, and Saintair had ascended to the position of Sultan. Sintair had fallen ill months after his ascendancy and died. The country had fallen into chaos with regional leaders fighting for power. It was now Sarriet's responsibility to return to the land of his forefathers and assume the sultanship, else the country might fall into civil war. He returned to find the country in chaos and had no idea how to fix it. He called a meeting of the leaders of the individual territories to try to fix the issues. There was much yelling but after days of heated deliberations they formed an advisory council to the Sultan that was meant to allow all voices to be heard. The idea was sound, but the application was shoddy and there was much strife within the council. Sarriet was overwhelmed by the responsibility and all that he could think about was returning to the calm of nature. The cool shades of green of the forests filled his dreams. Sarriet faded into the background and allowed the council and his other advisors to rule the country while he remained but a symbol, free to wander the world with Emara...
